Communicating OnlineThis is a featured page

E-mod

Like we say in our letter, this website is designed to be an extension of our class and resource time together at school. In essence, instead of p-mod work, we've invited you and will expect you to participate in what we'll call e-mod work. The main way that you will be able to participate is through Discussion Forums that we start, you start, or others start. Other ways will include

  • posting in Discussion Forums
  • e-mailing other students or me
  • adding pages of your own
  • flagging inappropriate material on this website

Rules

Posting in Discussion Forums

Please treat the Discussion Forums with high seriousness. Remember that these are extensions of the classroom and therefore all the etiquette you would expect to be in the classroom should extend to the forums. Please respond with insight, with detail, with specificity; with politeness, with constructive commentary, with positive debate. Any violations of these expectations should be flagged--see below.(Accepted rules of grammar and punctuation should apply here.)

(Hint: Double-space between chunks of information, especially between formal paragraphs. Avoid just glopping everything into one big block of text, because it's hard for us to read.)

E-mailing

Please write something informative in the SUBJECT box. We don't have to worry about spam on here, but it's just netiquette. Please refrain from inappropriate language or nastiness or gossip. (Accepted rules of grammar and punctuation should apply here.)

Adding pages

If there is information or there are resources you would like to include on the website for the benefit of the American Myth classes (not just your own), or if you would like to post something you've written, please ask us and we will show you how to do this. Once you join the site, you have the ability to manipulate and co-create the site with us and each other. (Accepted rules of grammar and punctuation should apply here.)

Flagging

If you do see any inappropriate language or nastiness or gossip (especially if you are the victim of it), or if you notice any errors (in grammar, spelling, logic, information, etc.) on our or someone else's part, please message me right away. We want this to be the best kind of 12x16 space it can be.
